Passport Appointment Online

Since 2012, the Indian Ministry of external affair has brought some changes in the process of passport appointment online for issuance of fresh passport or reissue of expired passport or expiring passport. This online appointment process has been adopted to make the appointment process accessible to everyone those who are applying online .T.C.S. has also joined to negotiate the online application system and also to deal with the data entry process. Though MEA and TCS have provided many facilities regarding passport and they have launched many passport kiosks also known as passport seva Kendra (psk) where any Indian citizen can visit to submit his/her passport application and its really relaxing news for Indian passport applicants there is no need of agents and middlemen in this process, you will directly get accessible benefits, However one can only visit psk when he has already booked online appointment or unless or the person is filling for tatkal application in this case you can simply walk to your nearest psk without appointment. You have to be very concern regarding filling of online appointment form because the number of slots at any psk is limited, hence they need to filled as quickly as soon as they are open... 

Here some tips will help you to get your appointment faster

(1) Firstly make sure you have created your account on the website
http://passportindia.gov.in/ 

 (2)You can fill the application online, or you can download PDF file, and you can fill the form offline, once you are done with the filling of your form you have to generate the upload file. Upload the same from your account at passport India website
 
(3) verify all your details which you have entered in the form, then submit it once your submission is completed, you will be able to create an appointment
 
(4)After that when you will click on view saves/submitted application there the link and the system will show you all application which you have create. Above all you can only crease 3 application per account
 
(5) select the desire application below the application click on “Manage appointment" you have to be very concern that the line will only be accusable for form that have been submitted . Those forms which have been filled partially will not get the accusable link
 

(6) on the next screen you will be asked to choose your nearest psk location and then click on "create appointment"

(7)In the system you'll have to fill in CAPTCHA code to verify that you are a human being not kind of automate boot who is trying to create appointment and the catch code is alphanumeric and the alphabets are also in capital.
 
(8) Once you are done with CAPTCHA, go and click on "show available slots" probably you will see the following message " currently no appointment slots are available for the passport seva Kendra please try DD/MM/YYYY 3.30pm onwards. Total number of appointment booked today xxx ".You'll get to see the appointment timing for various passport offices on the passport website
 
(9) Be very careful when you are writing down the date and time and also check on your watch , mobile (which you refer the website clock) and you'll see the website clock at the top left corner of every page
 
(10) and don’t forget to visit your website on specific date at least ten to fifteen minutes before the given time
 
(11)Make sure that you have filled the CAPTCHA code . And follow step 4 to 7 and got show available slots page and wait for the right time 3 pm or whatever time is mentioned there do not click on the link to see the slot yet, click the show available slot within few seconds of clock timing 3pm
 
(12) there yet will get to see many slots open for two or three days, don’t waste your time over thinking, immediately choose any slot. And with my experience I advise you to choose afternoon slots. 3pm to 4pm slots because many don’t prefer afternoon slots
 
(13) After that the system will ask you to enter CAPTCHA and if the slot which you once choose is still available you will receive an appointment number.

Don’t panic when the system will become heavy slow during your online passport appointment, because there is heavy visitors on the website, so I advise you to access the website from a broad band or high speed internet line (if possible egg office) and please do not hit refresh or back button on the browser though you'll get only one chance before your slots get filled. If somehow you get your booking stuck on the final page, immediately open the other window without disturbing your existing panel login into your account to see it if you have appointment ID. Sometimes because of heavy loads on website the system is too slow to respond and may have already booked your slot and not showing your online appointment confirmation in those cases opening the new window will help you to verify whether the appointment went through or not.

If you are abortive in your attempt hit back button and come to the date and time mentioned in the error message
If you are willing to make booking for your multiple accounts, let me tell you as only one account will be logged in from single browser and if you have multiple booking then use different browsers or use multiple computers.

If you see any information regarding changing in any newspapers or in Toy they are to be believed because the passport authorities are bringing out important changes in the application process 

(1)Now the system will automatically provide you an appointment from given slots instead of any users logging at any specific time to book an appoint and twice in a year users can change their appointment 

(2) And the payment will be done online along with the appointment in order to confirm booking
These changes will be spread throughout the country
Update (up 13,2013) the new appointment has achieved PAN India where the payment of the fees will be done online before the given appointment.
