But I guess I was charged a tad bit higher for the same. My friend who gave me the reference, mentioned that he got his appointment in the next week and he had to pay Rs 500. I was made to pay Rs 1500 - couldn't argue much as I was pretty busy with work !!

Passport Appointment Booking is absolutely free at "www.passportindia.gov.in". But due to heavy rush for it is not possible for everyone to book the slot. So we are getting a slot with high speed internet, so we are charging for this. we are students and doing this just as a part time. Please request for slot only if you are interested and know that we are charging just for booking your appointment, and you know that slots are available for free. Thank you.
